About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data team. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient with a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication, and work ethic. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to gather and identify data project requirements, as well as implementing solutions to support business analytics through data warehouse development, API data extraction, and data pipeline creation.

Key Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Expertise in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience building data warehouses for business analytics purposes.
• Proficiency in extracting data from APIs using Python.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and identify data project requirements.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Git for version control.
• 4-5 years of experience as a data engineer or equivalent.
• Participate in the development of best practices and tools based on business needs.
• Ensure data and assets are classified appropriately.
• Support delivery of information in accordance with Data Governance standards and data management practices.
• Demonstrate data analytical skills in understanding and correcting data discrepancies, identifying data anomalies, and root cause analysis.
• Experience implementing end-to-end data management activities, from foundational activities like data governance, data quality, and metadata management, to value-deliverables like data warehousing & BI, data science and analytics, and data-driven applications.
• Experience with data integration, including ETL methodologies, CDC, batch and continuous processing between source systems and data buses and/or data warehouses.
• Competent data modeling in both logical and physical data models (OLAP/Dimensional, OLTP/Relational), including understanding and implementation.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with dbt for building data pipelines (experience with DataOps.live is even better).
• Familiarity with building data marts used by BI tools.
• Experience managing a Snowflake account.
• Competent data modeling skills, particularly in the Kimball method.
• Familiarity with AWS services.
• Degree in computer science or mathematics, or similar.
